What?

Women of the Island is a documentary web-series telling the untold and inspiring stories of the women who inhabit the island of Tasmania.  Each 5-8 minute episode will feature a different story as diverse, complex and interesting as the women themselves.

This is HERstory.

Our goal is to make 20 films over 2017-18, accompanied by photo+text stories which will come together in a coffee-table book. The website and book will form a rich snapshot of some of the previously unknown and fascinating women living in Tasmania and will ensure female stories are written into our history for future generations.

The first three films of our web series were produced and developed in association with Wide Angle Tasmania through Step-Out Web17.  We are especially grateful for the support of Abi Binning.
